Dedusting system for wood processing manufacturer

A case study of our recent project of a dedusting installation for a producer of wooden beds and associated furniture for healthcare

In November this year another dedusting project was completed which included unloading the extracted waste into a container. Placing the dust collector on a steel structure allowed to save the space and costs – due to minimizing the distance of waste conveying form a dust collector to the replacable container below. The dedusting system consists of the following devices:

• the ODP-3SLXLR-TSO dust collector with 150 filter bags of total 322 m2 filter surface
• extraction fans of total 30KW power installed in the top part of the dust collector (the clean sied, underpressure system)
• 2 screw conveyors: the open type TSO-260 inside the dust collector hopper, and the FTS-UO which loads the container
• strengthened carbon steel piping and standard galvanized steel piping
• pneumatic slide dampers installed on the individual pipelines to enable automatic control of flow form selected machines
• returned air ducting – for filtered air to be returned into the hall during winter (lower heat loss) and released into the air during summer.

Bearing in mind the safety issues, the entire system is equipped with the following fire and ATEX explosion protection systems:

• decompressive panels – they work as explosion venting system
• non-return flap valves on dirty pipelines – they work as explosion isolation by preventing the explosion form spreading into the hall
• FZC rotary valve – air lock type – isolates the explosion (the explosion flame and pressure do not get through outside)
• dry riser with sprinklers installations.

Additionally, for our customer’s request a steel sheet enclousure was installed on the structure for the conatiners so that the waste can be loaded neatly and stay dry regaldess of the weathering conditions.

The entire system is controlled from a central steering cabinet executed in accordance with the binding regulations and in accordance to customer’s wishes.
