A case study of a dust extraction system delivered for a manufacturer of ecological playgrounds for children

We all know how a typical playground for children looks like. They are in parks, among blocks of flats but also in villages. They must have a swing, a carousel, sandpits and climbing nets or wooden structures for climbing and sliding. But have you ever seen how such playgrounds are produced? We have!

Another completed project we delivered to a producer of ecological playgrounds. The company pays special attention to the environmental aspect of their production. That is why there are only eco-friendly varnishes used for coating, sand blasting was replaced by shot-blasting technique and regranulation of HDPE waste was implemented. Equally crucial feature of our customer’s products is their safety and compliance with EU standards.

The dust collection and waste conveying system includes:

  • ODP-2WXXL baghouse dust collector (~17 000 m3 efficiency) with two built-in extraction fans of total 30kW power
  • FZC-1000-7-STD/Ex rotary valve which doses and transports waste from the dust collector hopper to the screw conveyor below – the valve also works explosion isolation ATEX protection system
  • FTS-UO-250 screw conveyor which transports the waste from rotary valve to a briquett press or a container (still to be decided by the customer)
  • non-return flap valve VIGILEX d500 installed on the dirty pipeline of the dedusting system – the valve prevents a potential explosion, which might happen inside a dust collecotr, from spreading to other parts of the system e.g. into the production halls;
  • piping system with pneumatic slide dampers that open automatically when the processing machine they are connected to starts operating.

In effect, the production of our customer has been enhanced and the waste handling became much easier.
